The spelling rule we have been revising this week is the use of possessive apostrophes with singular proper nouns, e.g., ‘It is Joe’s pencil case.’
During the week we have discussed the spelling objective, revised the use of apostrophes and practised our understanding. To support your child’s understanding please explore the BBC Bitesize website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvwwxnb/articles/zx9ydxs
On Wednesday the children will be asked to identify the singular proper noun that requires a possessive apostrophe in a dictation lesson – they will then write the correct spelling as part of their spelling assessment. They will complete 5 of these followed by 5 of the Year ¾ Common exception words.
