PSHE

At Harold Wood Primary School we promote social and emotional literacy in children and are dedicated to equipping them with the skills they need to lead a healthy, happy life.

Our PSHE curriculum is based on the Jigsaw approach to teaching PSHE.

which supports children with:

  • social awareness
  • managing feelings
  • motivation
  • empathy
  • social interactions.

Through Jigsaw based activities we aim to help children become successful learners, responsible citizens and confident individuals.

The framework is divided into six themes to be covered within a school year:

Autumn 1:

Includes understanding my place in the class, school and global community as well as devising Learning Charters

Autumn 2:

Celebrating Difference

Includes anti-bullying (cyber and homophobic bullying included) and diversity work

Spring 1:

Dreams and Goals
