Week 2 adding suffix -ly y changing to i

Here are some of the words you will be learning this week ending with the suffix - ly.

ly is added to an adjective to form an adverb.

If the root word ends in y and there is a consonant before it the y changes to i before adding ly.

 

The root word has to have more than one syllable so not e.g shy (shyly)
