Visions and Values

Our Vision Statement

‘Working together.  Learning together. Respecting each other.

            To REACH our personal best’

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do.  The school community has worked together to create our school values.  We believe these values help us to work together for the best of everyone in our school community.

1. They determine our distinctiveness

2. They communicate what is important

3. They influence our behaviours

4. They inspire our involvement in school life

RESPECT

At Harold Wood Primary School:

1. We will teach our children to be open minded, tolerant of other peoples’ differences, responsible, respectful and resilient.

2. We value the diversity of backgrounds of all children, families and wider school community.

3. We aim to nurture our children on their journey through life so they can grow into safe, caring, democratic, responsible and tolerant adults who make a positive difference to British society and to the world.

4. We expect everyone to always be polite and show good manners, be a positive role model to others.  Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself!

EQUALITY

At Harold Wood Primary School:

1. We aim to ensure that every member of our school community is given equality to achieve their full potential – each individual is entitled to work in a supportive environment.

2. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and ability to participate fully in school life.

3. We tackle discrimination through the positive promotion of equality by challenging bullying and stereotypes, and by creating an environment which champions respect for all.

4. We will assist our children in achieving to their very best potential.  Where children experience barriers to their success, we will work with them to address those in a sensitive and sympathetic way.

5. We will teach our children the importance of equality and what forms discrimination can take and the impact discrimination can have.
