Vision for Religious Education (R.E.)
At Harold Wood Primary School we aim to develop respect, tolerance and understanding through our teaching of R.E. Learning about religion and learning from religion has the capacity to motivate and empower and challenges children to think more deeply about their own views, beliefs and place in the world.
R.E. helps prepare pupils to become responsible citizens by raising issues of local, national and global interest and placing them in spiritual and moral contexts, and in-line with modern British values (democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith).
